Etsy Star Seller Hack
Sssh, don't tell anyone!
You might have seen my post last year about star seller, and my thoughts on it. I still feel pretty much the same about it.
However, I saw a comment on threads a while ago, where someone said that by entering 'No tracking' into the tracking number box, Etsy will then think you have added tracking, and so won't mark it as an order missing tracking (this is for all orders over £10 btw).
And it worked!
You can also add the 'tracking' for any large letter or parcels sent with 1st or 2nd class via Royal Mail, as although it only shows when delivered, counts towards the tracking too.
And I have officially got star seller for the first time. The only thing stopping me from achieving star seller all these years is that I don't send out all orders with tracking, which I think it is unreasonable that Etsy think you should do, whilst not offering tracked 24 or tracked 48 through Royal Mail in their postage, AND, telling me I'm charging too much shipping. When I'm charging exactly what it is going to cost for me to post it!
But anyway, if you fancy getting star seller yourself, and like me, this was the only thing holding you back, try it! It obviously took a couple of months to work, as they base it on a three month period, and I have read that having star seller doesn't make a difference in terms of sales, but there must be a reason that Etsy introduced it in the first place, so surely it would have some sort of benefit?? Or is it just wishful thinking...
