Drawing & Creating
To draw, I use Procreate on an iPad Pro, with an Apple Pencil. Digital drawing isn't cheap doing it this way, as if you don't have an ipad and pencil, that's quite the expense, but if you're serious then it is a worthy investment. Procreate is around £12 to buy for a one off price, and then no more fees or subscriptions, so that at least is pretty good deal!
For anything other than initially drawing, so creating patterns, fine tuning designs, creating vectors and graphics, I will use a mix of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and with that I always use my Wacom Intuos Tablet, genuinely can't remember the last time I used a mouse or trackpad! I'm self taught in photoshop, and learnt the basics of illustrator at my previous job as a graphic designer, but there are lots of tips and tricks and tutorials on the internet to get to grips with the apps - I won't lie, they can be frustrating at times!
I always use a mac - I have a macbook with an external display that I connect, making it easy for me to sit on the sofa and do more admin/basic tasks on the laptop, but also connect the display when I want a desktop setup. Having two screens is actually really handy!
